October 19, 2010 (Marlton, NJ) – eMaint Enterprises announced today that new document sharing and vendor portal features have been added to its premier product, X3 CMMS. While eMaint has always provided the ability to link and share images and other documents with other X3 users, some customers did not have the ability to host all of their rich media documents internally.
The new document sharing solution allows X3 users to seamlessly upload any rich media documents to eMaint via integration with Rackspace Cloud Files. Users can seamlessly upload and link any document, including manuals, images, drawings, procedures and invoices to any individual record in their eMaint account, such as an asset, part, procedure, task, PM, or work order record. The uploaded files are then easily accessible to other users on the account.
The newly-released Vendor Portal feature allows customers to customize a portal that gives outside contractors access to specific functions of the Emaint system. Through this access, vendors will be able to acknowledge that they have received the details of work orders, update cost information upon completion of the work, and attach invoices and other documents to the work record. As with other features of the eMaint system, these features can be customized to ensure that only pertinent information is being shared through this secure portal.
Alex Allen, senior product specialist at eMaint, stated that the new features are especially beneficial for facilities maintenance managers, manufacturers, and those in the service sector who frequently utilize outside contractors in their maintenance programs. He noted that a shared database is the heart of any CMMS system, adding “The new features now make it even easier to share not only data but all types of illustrations, manuals and checklists with other in-house users as well as outside partners.”
