Headquartered in South Africa, AFRIGRID offers a holistic approach to Infrastructure Asset Health Management, Predictive Maintenance and Infrastructure Asset Protection solutions. The company helps organizations increase asset reliability, prevent system failures with condition monitoring techniques, reduce operational costs and ensure operational efficiency. THE CHALLENGE

The company experienced growth of 62% in one year, and wanted a system to help keep up with the preventive maintenance required for their client contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The company needed a CMMS system to assist with work scheduling and for weekly, monthly and annual tasks. The company also wanted to be able to automate workflows, tasks and work assignments. AFRIGRID selected eMaint due to its automation capabilities, and the ability to include materials, as well as detailed tasks on work orders.

IMPLEMENTATION

To get started implementing eMaint, Etienne worked with his Customer Success Manager and the eMaint Support team. Additionally, he participated in online training on eMaint University, and watched eMaint’s Best Practice Webinars and Web-Workshops. A key to AFRIGRID’s successful implementation was establishing a vision for eMaint CMMS prior to setting up the system. The company created processes and knew exactly how they wanted assets and parts to be defined, so the eMaint system was tailored to their specific needs.

RESULTS

AFRIGRID leverages eMaint CMMS to give the company a competitive edge. They maintain a 100% compliance rate for all SLAs, consistently delivering on their promise to deliver high value services and solutions. eMaint CMMS also helps AFRIGRID keep up with maintenance and establish a historical record of the maintenance performed.

The company utilizes eMaint’s condition monitoring tools to prevent potential failures, and to predict when maintenance will need to be performed on assets such as generators, air conditioning units and electric motors. To streamline work and improve response time, each asset is assigned to a particular technician, and work orders are sent to the correct person automatically.

With eMaint, operational effectiveness of equipment has increased, and downtime has been reduced because technicians are now equipped with all necessary processes and parts. As a result, the company has more time than ever to engage in other new projects.

Additionally, AFRIGRID has moved away from spreadsheets completely. The company now captures all spare parts data within eMaint CMMS, and the accuracy of record keeping has skyrocketed.
