Bilingual Support Makes a CMMS Transition Work

Overtime, waste spoilage, and downtime are the bane of any facility’s operations. When Orange County
Container Group (OCCG) realized it needed a system that would proactively address and reduce these
concerns, it looked to computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) as a viable solution.
The leading CMMS providers were cost-prohibitive and too cumbersome to make them cost-effective
for OCCG’s maintenance management crews. They needed a lean, mean and extremely user-friendly
system that they could roll-out virtually out-of-the-box.

OccgThe other serious consideration was the substantial presence OCCG had in Mexico and the U.S., which
meant the CMMS chosen would need to offer bilingual training and support that would enable teams in
both countries to seamlessly work together in real-time. After a diligent search and discovery process,
OCCG discovered a solution that provided a highly user-friendly and customizable solution, and provided
24/7 bilingual support to go with it. That solution was eMaint X3 CMMS, which allowed them to track
inventory and manage assets across multiple locations – and – provided a substantial savings.

OCCG had been using another CMMS provider (Datastream) and was having systemic gaps in continuity,
including poor mobile connection, delays in entering work status updates, failure to share inventory
across sites, increased downtime, and pervasive inventory inaccuracies, all of which resulted in a
substandard on-time PM completion rate of 70%, along with excessive overtime caused by manual
paperwork.

Through using eMaint’s X3 CMMS, OCCG decreased overtime by half an hour each day, reduced
downtime by 1%, reduced waste spoilage. OCCG credits the success of the CMMS implementation and
the subsequent savings to many factors, including a team effort involving maintenance, IT, accounting,
auditors, suppliers, and production, all dedicated to getting it right the first time, along with a focus on
up-front English/Spanish bilingual training facilitated by eMaint.
