The New England Fertilizer Company (NEFCO) is a leader in biosolids management. The company designs, builds and operates biosolids processing facilities, and is responsible for producing high quality Class A fertilizer.
NEFCO and Corporate Operations Manager Bill Hollman wanted a “state of the practice” CMMS to get a sense of where they stood as an organization and ensure standardized practices in all NEFCO plants. The company also wanted a scalable solution delivered on a SaaS model. During implementation, NEFCO took advantage of a variety of eMaint Services options, such as performing a Kick Start which includes reviewing goals, developing a road map for implementation, and establishing a project plan.
The NEFCO team started with their Detroit plant (pictured) and created a database of information, and built forms to use across all locations to streamline implementation for other plants. Since NEFCO went live with eMaint CMMS, they have been empowered to:
- Track key business metrics: MTBF, MTBR, MTBI, open WOs monthly, and WO type
- Provide documentation to show auditors how NEFCO maintains equipment
- Maintain optimized levels of critical spare parts inventory
- Standardize system data across all NEFCO plants
