The Criticality Dilemma

Establishing Asset Criticality is the fundamental first step in organizing a maintenance and reliability program. With Asset Criticality ranking, organizations are able to rate assets to determine how critical each piece of equipment is to areas such as safety, product quality, customer issues, environmental issues, and production.

There are a few common strategies, but a ‘criticality dilemma’ often leads companies to four self-defeating strategies for managing criticality. A proper balance of coverage and a tiered maintenance approach can be key to success with a reliability program.

During this month’s Best Practices Webinar, Tyler Evans, Business Unit Manager, Fluke’s Vibration and Alignment Products will discuss the importance of criticality, and will offer examples of how organizations have overcome challenges. Attendees will be provided with:

-Why criticality is the fundamental first step in organizing a maintenance & reliability program, but not sufficient
-Common strategies for managing critical assets
-Why the criticality dilemma often leads companies to 4 self-defeating strategies for managing criticality
-How other industries have organized themselves to overcome the criticality dilemma
